A Pet-Friendly Weekend in Tualatin Valley
Traveling with a four-legged companion can be a challenge, yet dog-friendly options (including hotels, camping, and wineries) abound throughout Oregon’s Tualatin Valley, located just minutes from Portland, Oregon. SATURDAY
Spend a day exploring nature at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park. The park has more than 30 miles of multi-use trails that allow dogs. Plus, the park has an off-leash area for dogs to run and play, and the views from the area are terrific to boot!
(Insider tip: Dogs must be on leashes no longer than six-feet long on the trails.)
After a day of playing fetch at the off-leash park or hiking along the trails, venture to Hillsboro for a hearty meal at the Copper River Restaurant, which allows dogs on its patio.
Travel to Orenco Station and check out Nature’s Pet, to buy natural treats or to give your dog a wash after playing at the state park. Just a short walk away is Orenco Taphouse, a pet-friendly taproom, where dogs are allowed–inside and outside–while you taste flight of craft brews from Oregon and beyond.

Our winemakers love their dogs, and many a friendly Fido can be found sniffing the terroir, welcoming visitors into the tasting room, and generally showing that a day touring the northern Willamette Valley’s wineries is a tail-wagging good time.
