One of Tualatin Valley’s newest attractions is K1 Speed Indoor Kart Racing. K1 offers all-electric go-karts, perfect for the environmentally conscious Pacific Northwest. This state-of-the-art attraction features museum-quality motorsport memorabilia, the latest all-electric Storm and Junior go-karts imported directly from Italy, an 11-turn road-course inspired track, arcade, and lounge offering delicious food and refreshing beverages for all ages. Entertainment Centers
Langer’s Entertainment Center is Tualatin Valley’s newest attraction. Langer’s Entertainment Center offers fun for the whole family, with a high ropes course, laser tag arena, rock climbing wall, arcade games and bowling lanes. Langer’s features a large menu of food items as well as treats and drinks at the Thunder Mountain Cabin Cafe and the Tack Room Bar. (All ages)
The newly renovated Bullwinkle’s Entertainment offers six acres of fun in Wilsonville. This amusement park has miniature golf, go-karts, laser tag, bumper boats, a 28-foot rock wall, batting cages, a bungee sling shot, more than 150 arcade games, a cyber coaster, Kidopolis Playland–and a full-service restaurant and snack bar. Kid-Friendly Museum
Located in a unique 1952 ranch-style house in Hillsboro, the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals features a world-class collection of fine rocks and minerals, fossils, meteorites, lapidary art and gemstones from the Pacific Northwest and around the world. One of the most popular exhibits for both young and old is the “Rainbow Gallery,” home to glow-in-the-dark stones that light up under ultraviolet light. Escape Rooms
Imagine being locked in a room with your family—or even strangers—and you have 60 minutes to figure your way out of the room, which will be granted only after your group successfully solves riddles, rhymes and puzzles. Tualatin Valley boasts a number of Escape Rooms, which can help nurture team building and critical thinking skills. (Good for teens and older kids)
Nature Parks
Both the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge and Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve are ideal for family travel. In addition to trails that lead through many diverse nature habitats (which can lead to some fun bird spotting), both have hands-on educational centers that can sneak in a little education on their vacation. Cooper Mountain Nature Park
Enjoy a nice afternoon with the whole gang at Cooper Mountain Nature Park in Beaverton. With over three miles of family-friendly walking trails, the park offers visitors an up-close look at birds and other local wildlife and beautiful views of the nearby Chehalem Mountains. A nature themed playground and demonstration garden provide the chance to explore and learn more about the area’s diverse habitats. (All ages)
