Tualatin Valley Fall Events Preview
Just because summer is (almost) over, it doesn’t mean that the fun and adventure of Tualatin Valley has to end. This fall, plan a weekend getaway and discover why fall just may be our favorite time of year.
Forest Grove is the place to be September 17th with a duo of events. The annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival invites artists of all ages and skill levels to create a chalk masterpiece along Forest Grove’s Main Street. The event starts at $14 for participants and is free to spectators. The annual Corn Roast and Harvest Festival celebrates Forest Grove’s agricultural roots with this fun event featuring fresh-roasted corn, along with burgers, sausages, hot dogs and more.
Annual West Coast Pumpkin Regatta returns to the city of Tualatin, October 15-16. After a two-year hiatus, this crowd-pleasing annual event returns. Festivities start on Saturday with Pumpkin and Pints, at Stickmen Brewing Company, where giant pumpkins and other vegetables compete to win cash prizes. On Sunday, the wild and wacky regatta returns, featuring costumed racers paddling gigantic pumpkins along a watercourse on Tualatin Commons Lake. Costume contest, pumpkin bowling and pumpkin golf are among the other activities happening on Sunday. Admission is free.
In addition to Tualatin Valley’s signature events, our farms are also bustling with fall activities. Apple season starts around September. With dozens of different varieties of apples to choose from, pick your own at Smith Berry Barn, buy them ready-picked at Oregon Heritage Farms, or peruse the fall farmers markets. October is pumpkin season Pick a pumpkin from a patch, get lost in a corn maze, and take a hayride at the numerous pumpkin farms throughout the region.
