5 Things to do in Downtown Beaverton

Beaverton is found on the western edge of Oregon’s Tualatin Valley, just outside Portland. The city is surrounded by farmland and nature and you’ll find plenty of things to do in downtown Beaverton without straying far.

1. Browse the Farmers Market

Almost year-round, the Beaverton Farmers Market is the best spot for local produce, artisan goods and tasty treats. From February until the end of October, the Beaverton Farmers Market grows. The winter market starts with a smaller assortment of local makers and summer brings farmers from Northwest to share their wealth of produce. Try out handmade soaps, enjoy a fresh stroopwafel, stock up on groceries and sample local libations. Open Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

2. Eat on Restaurant Row

Beaverton is known for it’s growing food scene. “Restaurant Row” has attracted Portland favorites for their expansions and other favorites that attract visitors. Try the Detroit Style pizza at Ex Novo Brewing, the unique flavors of curries and tea leaf salad at Top Burmese’s Bistro Royal or smoked, fried chicken and jo-jo’s from Big’s Chicken. Newly renovated Nak Won is a Korean favorite amid more than a dozen Korean restaurants in the area and Syndicate Wine Bar is a relaxing stop for a glass of wine where you can also enjoy takeout from surrounding restaurants. The First Street Dining Commons also is a haven for outdoor dining, with covered tables and heaters.

3. Visit BG’s Food Cartel

Beaverton’s first permanent food cart pod has become a local hotspot where you’ll find a huge variety of great food options. There are more than 30 food carts, including drinks like boba tea and coffee, healthy options, gourmet burgers, loaded fries, crepes and so much more. The carts surround a common dining area with plenty of picnic tables and a speakeasy bar with indoor and outdoor seating. This is the perfect place for a group with varied food cravings.

4. Explore Tualatin Hills Nature Park

Located right in the middle of an area known for Nike World Headquarters and big tech companies, this 222-acre nature park is a forested area with ponds, creeks and marshes for you to explore. The park has 1.5 miles of paved trails and 3.5 miles of soft-surface trails, perfect for a walk or run to escape the bustle beyond it.
